I know that choosing a therapist can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. That’s why I want you to rest assured that you’ve chosen well. Below you’ll find answers to some of my clients’ frequently asked questions. I’ve been able to cover quite a few topics, but if there’s something I haven’t touched on, please don’t hesitate to ask.

How much is the investment? 

Let's think about it...

  • Speech-Language Therapy will help you and your child to communicate better, understand each other, interact, play and have fun. How much would you pay for that? 

  • Feeding Therapy will help your child to eat more and better,  to chew their food properly, to have happy meals instead of "oh-no is dinner time again" meals. How much would you pay for that? 

  • Myofunctional therapy will help you or your child to breathe using your nose - not your mouth- will help you to sleep better -bye-bye snoring? and will help you to eat better. How much would you pay for that? 

  • Bilingual speech therapy will connect with you and your family at a whole different level - culturally, and linguistically level.  I understand your culture,  your traditions, your parenting ways, your needs, and even your jokes. How much would you pay for that?

  • Bilingual Comprehensive Speech-Language Evaluation: (includes written report)  $475.00

  • Orofacial Myofunctional - Feeding evaluation: (includes written report) $500.00

​​

  • Articulation (only speech sounds) evaluation: (includes written report) $350.00

​

  • Thumbs Up! Complete program (Thumb sucking remediation program):  $350.00

     

  • Reevaluation: (6 months) $250.00

     

  • Speech therapy session:  $140.00/hour

     

  • Feeding Therapy session: $140.00/hour

     

  • Orofacial Myofunctional therapy session (specialized service):  $150.00/hour

  • Parent Coaching (Online or In-person): $120.00 per hour

     

  • Progress report/Summary of services for insurance:  $100.00/hour

     

  • Screenings: (includes checklist and recommendations) $80.00/ 30 min

  • Free 15 min Virtual Consultation

​

  • 45 min Virtual Consultation including a summary and plan via email after the meeting: $65

​

  • Extra Traveling Fee:  $25.00 applies for in-home services or for daycare-school observations. If you are more than 5 miles away from Falls Church VA 22046, I won't be able to provide services to you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

All fees for services are due on the day or at the time services are rendered.

 

A superbill and invoice for services rendered will be generated and provided on the 1st of every month for your records/insurance claims.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Unfortunately, not.  Each session and evaluation requires specific/ detailed preparation. Contact me today so we can plan it together.

A FREE VIRTUAL CONSULTATION is mandatory before scheduling any evaluation. It is important to me to get to know you,  answer your questions, share my approach and determine if we are a good fit for each other.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

Brainstorm Speech Therapy does NOT accept insurance at this time and is considered an OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER for ALL insurances. 

​

REASON?  I believe that you deserve my whole attention, as a SOLO-PRACTICE I prefer to invest my time, energy, and resources in YOU and YOUR treatment plan. I also want YOU to have full control of YOUR treatment.  

​

BUT WAIT! 

​

I offer superbills! (monthly statements for your OWN INSURANCE CLAIMS) 

 

Depending on your plan and company, some insurances may reimburse for part or all speech therapy services.  

​

Please call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the representative what speech therapy coverage is with an out-of-network provider.

​

  • Comprehensive Speech-Language Evaluation: 92523 

  • Evaluation of oral and pharyngeal swallowing function  (for feeding and Myofunctional therapy): 92610 

  • Single Speech-Language Therapy session: 92507

  • Treatment of swallowing dysfunction and/or oral function for feeding and Myofunctional therapy: 92526

If you still want to pursue services with BrainStorm Speech Therapy using your insurance's out-of-network coverage, don't hesitate to get in touch with me to move accordingly.

Note: I am licensed to provide Speech-Language Therapy Services in VA and NY.  I can offer consultations in other states and countries, however, those services are ALL OUT-OF-POCKET. No superbills can be provided.

​

Friendly reminder:  It is the family’s responsibility to save copies of all treatment notes, evaluations, progress reports, invoices, and superbills from handling any insurance claims.

Do you offer in-person and/or teletherapy?

BrainStorm offers a hybrid therapeutic model.  The best mean of service will be discussed individually with each family/client.

Brainstorm offers: 

  • In-home services: I will visit you in the comfort of your home - a traveling fee applies. (Reduced availability)

  • Community sessions: parks, supermarkets, local libraries, coffee shops, etc - traveling fee applies.

  • Office services: 307 E Annandale Road suite 208 Falls Church VA 22042

  • School sessions: If allowed, sessions can be completed at your children's school/daycare - a traveling fee applies.

  • Interactive Teletherapy session using ZOOM! (HIPAA secured)

Are sessions in English or Spanish?

Sessions will be completed in the preferred family language.

 

I particularly enjoy working with bilingual English-Spanish-speaking families because I am fascinated with how the bilingual brain works. Also, because I am LATINA (Colombia presente!!!) And I want to help my community as much as possible.

 
I believe that bilingualism and/or multilingualism is a RIGHT, and I will always do my best to honor your family's choice.
